Land Clearing Services in Aledo

Pruitt Range & Brush provides land clearing, lot clearing, brush removal, stump grinding and rough grading for residential and commercial properties in Aledo, TX and the surrounding area. Six scopes cover every project on this side of the county:

  • Selective clearing on estate lots: cedar, mesquite and hackberry out, mature post oak staked and kept.
  • Residential land clearing for a homesite: understory to grade, rough grade, cleanup.
  • Commercial land clearing services and commercial clearing for commercial sites and commercial development along I-20 and FM 1187.
  • Pasture reclaim, property clearing and professional clearing on 5 to 40 acres.
  • Tree removal of stems to 8 inches with the mulcher; larger trunks cut and hauled.
  • Full site clearing, site preparation, land improvement and landscape clearing to the rough grade.

Site work stops at the rough grade. Excavation for foundations, wells, septic and house demolition are other trades, and I know people who do them. On an Aledo lot our professional land clearing service earns its fee by what stays standing. Post oak dies if you compact under its crown or bury its roots in fill, and it takes three years to show. We work from outside the drip line and never park under a keeper. Inside city limits the Aledo tree rules apply to larger trunks, and I check them first. Send me the survey and I will mark the oaks that stay.

Lot Clearing for New Homes in Aledo and Weatherford

Aledo, TX issued 63 single-family permits in 2025 by the Census Building Permits Survey and the county 312, but Parker County permits understate the work, because most houses here go up on acreage outside city limits with no permit pulled. A half-acre lot is one day with the skid steer mulcher, $2,800, no transport. A wooded acre with the oaks kept and a dozen stumps is two days, and property owners get both numbers in writing at the site visit.

We cleared 8 acres of mesquite and post oak pasture in Parker County with this crew: two days, $8,400, and a bush hog pass every June since. Cross Timbers post oak was here before the fence and will outlast the house, if the machine stays off its roots. Depending on site conditions the sand drains fast, so wet weather rarely costs a day here, and I say so before the price when it will. Drainage on these rolling lots means chips on the downhill side and a rough grade that carries water off the pad. Before we grind a stump we call 811, since a gas pipeline and buried electric follow I-20 under the brush. Dirt moved inside a FEMA mapped floodplain along the Clear Fork branches needs a county floodplain permit first. My site prep stops at the rough grade. Send me the plat and the on-site estimate will tell you what it takes to make your property slab-ready.

Brush Clearing and Forestry Mulching Near Aledo

Forestry mulching is a land clearing method that uses specialized equipment to grind trees, brush and vegetation into mulch in one pass, mulched in place with nothing to pile, burn or haul. Near Aledo it is the cheapest way to clear land under oaks, because chips protect roots and a dozer tears them. It also sidesteps the burn ban the county judge or commissioners court declares most dry summers and the TCEQ outdoor burning rules on piles.

Cedar, which is ashe juniper, is the understory job on the rises, and it does not resprout from the stump, so one pass is the last pass. Mesquite is the pasture job; a plain mow leaves a dozen new stems from the root crown by August, so the mulcher cuts the crown at grade and we treat the stem that day. In light cover the skid steer makes 3 to 5 acres a day. Overgrown land that is areas with dense cedar and 8-inch post oak saplings runs 1 to 2 acres a day. Large acreage clearing above 15 acres gets the 300-hp mulcher and the 8 ft head. We remove brush to grade and leave the site under two inches of chips that hold the sand until grass takes. On our jobs in Parker County a pasture mulched in fall is grazing by the second summer; left alone it will overgrow in five.

How Much Does Land Clearing Cost in Aledo?

Land clearing costs in the Aledo area run $2,800 for a half-acre lot and $900 to $4,000 an acre to mulch, set by canopy percent, with no transport charge this close to the yard. The add-ons come first: ten or more stumps move the grinding to a day rate, and keeping mature oaks adds about a day over clearing to dirt.

  • Skid steer mulcher: $2,800 a day, transport included within 60 miles of Weatherford.
  • 300-hp mulcher, 8 ft head: $4,200 a day plus transport.
  • Mulching: $900 to $1,400 an acre under 30 percent canopy, $1,800 to $2,600 medium, $3,000 to $4,000 dense old cedar or mesquite.
  • Full clearing to dirt, grubbed, hauled, rough graded: $2,000 to $4,500 an acre.
  • Stump grinding: $4 per inch of diameter, $175 minimum per stump.
  • Bush hogging $60 to $90 an acre, $400 minimum. Dozer grubbing $160 an hour with operator.
  • Haul-off $650 to $1,200 a load. Minimum trip $1,100.

The total depends on the size of the lot, the canopy and the ground. I read canopy by pacing it off, the way I did for twelve years of EQIP brush plans, and I walk the property with you so the number is one we both saw. A pasture tract under an NRCS brush management plan, practice 314, gets 50 to 75 percent of the payment-schedule rate back as EQIP cost-share. Call (832) 987-3495 for a free on-site estimate.

Serving Aledo and Nearby Weatherford, Willow Park, Hudson Oaks and Benbrook

The I-20 corridor east of the yard is the shortest loop the crew runs:

  • Weatherford, 20 minutes west: the home yard, pasture reclaim and acreage lots.
  • Willow Park and Hudson Oaks, between here and the yard on I-20: estate lots with oaks to keep.
  • Benbrook, east across the Tarrant County line: lots under the Fort Worth tree preservation ordinance, which I read first.

Our services in Aledo are the same list and the same prices in each of those towns. A land clearing company serving two counties along one highway carries two floodplain maps. We run land clearing services across Dallas-Fort Worth and the same services throughout the DFW area and the rest of North Texas from that yard. The land clearing Aledo owners ask for most is a wooded estate lot with the oaks kept, the same $2,800 a day as anywhere in the DFW metro. Tell Teo your road and your acreage and he will put you on the board.
